MotoGP: First victory with the Honda for Marini as he clinches the Americana at the 100 km

The 100 Km of Champions got underway today. After the free practice sessions and qualifying, the Americana, an elimination race that takes place on the Ranch's oval circuit, began as the sun was starting to set. Depending on the qualifying results, the riders were divided into two groups. In the first Cardus Ferran and Remy Gardner got the better of the others, and they were thus able to join the second, the fastest, to fight for the victory.

In the final, the front row was made up of Franco Morbidelli, Valentino Rossi, Luca Marini and Elia Bartolini. Marini prevailed in the decisive challenge and thus achieved his first victory on a Honda. Luca finished ahead of Diogo Moreira and his brother Valentino at the finish line, 4th place for Bartolini. Danilo Petrucci, who was racing a 500 2-stroke, reached the semi-finals.

The results of the Americana also decided the starting line-up for tomorrow's endurance race in pairs, which will start at 2pm. Bagnaia did not take part in the race today due to a commitment, but will be on track tomorrow.
