Jack Miller is going to Barcelona with the desire for revenge after the difficulties he encountered at the Red Bull Ring. In Austria, the KTM rider dreamt of being the star on Sunday, but he instead melted like snow in the sun, ending up in the back of the line.
That’s why he has to redeem himself at Montmelò.
“Barcelona is a track I like, where I managed to be competitive in the past and, consequently, it leaves me with good memories,” he began. “Unfortunately, it didn’t go as I hoped in Austria, but we understood what didn’t work and have clear ideas ahead of the weekend, aware of what we need to do to move forward.”
Jack then listed the obstacles that affected him.
“We have to improve in mid corner and try to get greater speed when exiting. We have some ideas, and I’m convinced that here at Montmelò we can be more competitive than at the Red Bull Ring.”
In all this, today Ezpeleta stated that KTM won’t have a fifth bike next year and, consequently, it’ll end up with several riders signed on.
“I think having so many riders is a big problem for KTM, especially compared to last year. But I’m only thinking about myself and doing my best, since my contract is clear, and I’m on the team. It’s not up to me to think about the business logic.”
One hypothesis could be that of taking advantage of the riders by giving them the chance to try out on the race weekend, like what happens in the F1.
“A rider would always want to race, but this is the MotoGP, not the F1. I say that because, if you lose the FP1 and then enter the FP2, getting the speed right away isn’t easy. That’s why I’m of the idea that it makes no sense to make replacements.”
Speaking of the F1, just last weekend Jack participated in the Dutch GP hosted by RedBull.
“Last weekend, I was in the Netherlands. It was a fantastic experience. I think the MotoGP should take its cue from the F1 in terms of marketing and promotion. We’ve seen the progress they’ve made, especially thanks to the Netflix series. If we compare them, they’re two slightly different worlds since, just as an example, you walk in peace in the paddock without being harrassed.”
